The PHAROS Shiver Screen Award was presented once again at the 59th International Hof Film Festival – a joint initiative by PHAROS – The Post Group and The Playmaker Munich to promote genre films and offer new talent a bigger stage.
Sometimes things come full circle in the most wonderful way: The PHAROS Audience Award 2025 at the Leipzig Film Art Fair went to ZWEIGSTELLE – a film that is particularly close to our hearts. This is because our PHAROS junior team played a key role in the post-production of this extraordinary debut film.
From now on, feature films, trailers, and teasers can be shown and approved at our Türkenstraße location not only in perfect picture quality, but also in full 7.1 surround sound—and, of course, as DCP.
As a long-standing partner and fan of the film festival, we are thrilled to be able to produce the official festival trailer again this year - this time in close collaboration with our creative partner ECHO ROOMS. Inspired by the design concept, together we have created a trailer that brings the festival's lightness and joie de vivre to the screen.
The PHAROS Production Award for graduation film projects at HFF Munich was presented for the fourth time. This year it went to two HFF graduation projects with special image design concepts: CAMOUFLAGE by Mirko Hans and ERINNERUNGEN EINES WALDES by Jacob Kohl. In addition, the jury awarded an honorable mention to the project FREEZING by Lea Dähne.

As of August 1, Michael Maczyszyn is now Head of the Digital Cinema Distribution & Mastering department at PHAROS. He assumes the commercial and technical responsibility for its business operations, management and strategic focus, taking over from Florian Peuler, who is leaving the company at his own request after almost a year and a half, to seek a new challenge.

He will be responsible for the operational business, the commercial management and the strategic orientation of the department. His vast experience as a producer at the former ARRI Media will benefit him here.
